The offer for consumers
CIBC has just launched a new offer for the CIBC Aerogold® Visa Infinite Card for which you could obtain:
- 15,000 Aeroplan miles after first purchase
- 5,000 Aeroplan miles after spending $1,000 in the first 4 months
- A $120 gift card to use on Air Canada’s website
However, the contribution remains $120/year from the first year.
The Air Canada electronic gift card is a novelty but does not allow you to pay taxes and fees with Aeroplan. It is therefore only valid for airfare purchased on Air Canada.
This offer is valid from July, 1 to October 31, 2019… which gives you time to plan a possible application

The offer for small business
CIBC doesn’t forget small businesses and has just launched a new offer for the CIBC Aerogold® Visa Card for Business for which you could get:
- 20,000 Aeroplan miles after first purchase
- 15,000 Aeroplan miles after spending $3,000 in the first 4 months
- A $120 gift card to use on Air Canada’s website
However, the contribution remains $180/year from the first year.
This offer is valid from July, 1 to October 31, 2019.

Conclusion
Gradually, Aeroplan-related credit card issuers (American Express, CIBC and TD) are announcing their offerings.
TD was the first to shoot a few months ago. So it’s CIBC’s turn to launch until October 31st!
American Express will likely to be the next to make new offers on its Aeroplan-affiliated cards including the American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Gold Card, which is the equivalent of card with offers on the CIBC and TD.
The best current offer on the American Express and Aeroplan side is on the American Express® AeroplanPlus®* Platinum Card. This card has the main advantage of offering access to Air Canada’s Maple Leaf lounges and an excellent Aeroplan mileage accumulation rate.
