During a one-night stay in Toronto, I decided to test the Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel, part of the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Booking
To book this category 5 hotel, I used the certificate for one free night I got with my Marriott Bonvoy™ Business American Express® Card.

Since I was there during the week, and since it’s a popular hotel for business meetings, the rate was really high: CA$ 378 per night. So using a certificate for a free night was appropriate here.
Location
The Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel is located in the Rogers Centre in downtown Toronto.
Around the hotel
The hotel is integrated within the Rogers Centre and its stadium. You are also next to the CN Tower and close to the city centre airport.

Checking in
Having just landed from my return flight from Paris, in business class aboard an Air France A350, I arrived at the hotel in the early evening. I had already checked in online and had my key on my mobile.

On the reception level there is a Starbucks café and a restaurant.

Special feature: being able to see inside the stadium, which must be particularly interesting on game nights!

Our room
The room is located on the Concierge level, on the 6th floor, with direct access to the Lounge (which is actually in the corridors of the floor).

My room is King style, spacious and modern looking.

All the usual accessories are present.

There’s a couch and a big desk to go with it.

In the hall, a large open wardrobe.

The bathroom
The bathroom has a large, modern-looking shower.

The hotel services
The lounge

The location of the lounge is rather odd, being directly in the corridor between the elevators and the rooms. A staff member is therefore present at all times to ensure that only authorized persons have access to the buffet.

In the evening, a buffet and drinks are offered.
Just like the continental breakfast.
The pool
The hotel’s swimming pool is close to the gym.

It is heated and large. When I went, there was no one else!
I think my kids would have loved it!

The gym
The training room is particularly large with modern equipment.

There weren’t too many people there on that weeknight either.

Our general impression of the hotel
The Toronto Marriott City Centre Hotel has checked all the boxes for a successful stay in Toronto:
- close to public transport and the city centre airport
- modern equipment
- A category 5 that remains available to holders of a free night certificate earned with the Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card or the Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Card.
The only thing to improve, in my opinion, would be a closed Lounge, outside the corridor leading to the rooms!
