The Hermitage - Booking
After an incredible experience in first class on the Singapore Airlines A380, already tested by Jean-Maximilien on the Frankfurt-New York route, I was looking for an inexpensive hotel for my transit to Jakarta.
As for Bali, Jakarta seems to me to be a sweet spot to use your Marriott Bonvoy points. Indeed, when I booked, the night cost either 15,000 points or $342. Naturally, I used my Marriott Bonvoy points!

The Hermitage - Location
The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta is a gem nestled in the heart of Indonesia’s bustling capital. Located in the historic district of Menteng, this establishment combines the charm of the past with modern elegance.
The Hermitage is within walking distance of embassies, cultural institutions and business districts, making it an ideal choice for business travelers and curious explorers. Surrounded by majestic trees and streets lined with colonial buildings, the hotel offers a harmonious contrast between the tranquility of its location and the frenetic energy of the city.

The Hermitage - Check-in
After an hour’s cab ride from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, I arrived at The Hermitage Jakarta. Security is paramount here, with a guard checking the interior and underside of the car. To enter the hall, you’ll have to pass through a security gate each time.
Check-in was quick, I registered in the app before I arrived, which allowed me to see that I had been upgraded to an executive suite before I got there, thanks to my Elite status. Initially, my reservation was for a classic room.
The hotel was very accommodating when I arrived late, as the lounge closed at 8 pm and I arrived at 7:55 pm. The lounge staff were informed of my arrival and were waiting for me to enjoy it.

The Hermitage - Room
The executive suite is built lengthways. The entrance opens directly onto a dining room and office area. The lounge area is ideal for watching TV. Finally, we arrive in the bedroom, which is adjacent to the bathroom. Each room is separated by a sliding door.
Fruit and local pastries awaited me as welcome gifts.

The bedroom offers quality bedding. On the bedside table is a QR code to use the E-butler service. By scanning the code, you’ll be redirected to open a WhatsApp conversation so you can chat directly with the hotel or order a meal with room service (from 6:30 a.m. to 1 a.m.).
The white marble bathroom is very bright. There’s a shower as well as a bathtub, in a space that can be closed off for greater privacy.
The Hermitage - Breakfast

Breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at Restaurant 1928, both buffet-style and à la carte (at no extra charge). Numerous options are available, including French specialties such as croque madame and Indonesian specialties such as Nasi Goreng.
Restaurant 1928 also serves lunch and dinner from 12 pm to 10 pm. I didn’t have the opportunity to have lunch and dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was very good.

The Hermitage - My overall impression
My stay at The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Jakarta went very well. The hotel offers a very good level of service for its category and points value.
However, I look at every detail and some don’t escape me. Small aesthetic details in my room deserved a few adjustments for a five-star hotel. The armchair cushion wasn’t facing the right way, and the curtain system didn’t seem to be mounted correctly, letting in a little daylight. I mentioned this to the hotel when I checked out, and they offered me my airport transfer as compensation.
The hotel is very well maintained and the room was comfortable and quiet. The staff was responsive to my requests. Finally, I particularly enjoyed the breakfast, with its menu offering both continental and local options. I’d definitely go back!
