Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Booking
The Courtyard San Francisco Airport is a good option for a room between two layovers, an early morning departure or a late arrival at San Francisco International Airport.
The Courtyard San Francisco Airport costs between 144 and 400 USD per night, depending on the time of year. Alternatively, it can be accessed using points, ranging from 33,000 to 45,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

The shuttle is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It runs every 30 minutes.
Earning Marriott Bonvoy Points

Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Location
The Courtyard San Francisco Airport hotel is located in San Bruno, a suburb of San Francisco. Most of the surrounding area is made up of office buildings, and El Camino Real is just a 3-minute walk away.
Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Check-in
In order to be ready for an early morning flight, I booked this hotel to be close to the airport. The shuttle makes the trip in 5 minutes, door to door.

I arrived in the afternoon and my room was already ready. The recording was fast and efficient. At the same time, I put myself on the list to take the shuttle the next morning.
As a thank-you for being a Platinum Elite member, I received a bag of popcorn from a local company and two bottles of water.
I would also have been entitled to a $10 per person credit at The Bistro, but instead I took the Marriott Bonvoy points.

Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Room
I was upgraded to one of the hotel’s largest rooms. It was located on a corner of the building, on the courtyard side.
First, there was the bedroom with two double beds, an armchair and a TV.
Another room was dedicated to the living room, with another TV, sofa, footrest, work desk, mini-refrigerator and microwave.
Opening the patio door in the living room gave access to the balcony overlooking the hotel’s inner courtyard.
The bathroom was divided in two.
The first part housed the bathroom sink and a wardrobe. The toilet and shower were located on the other side of the door.
Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Restaurant
Marriott Courtyard hotels don’t really have a restaurant option. However, it has a The Bistro.
It consists of a Starbucks counter with quickly prepared food and Starbucks drinks. Opening hours are limited, with availability mainly for breakfast and lunch.
Since I arrived in the afternoon and left very early in the morning, I unfortunately never saw it open.
Courtyard San Francisco Airport - The Market
A “convenience store” section called The Market is also available for a snack, reheating a meal, buying alcohol or for forgotten toiletries.

Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Other services
Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Swimming pool
There is no swimming pool at the Courtyard San Francisco Airport.
Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Gym
The fitness room is small and functional.
It has weights, yoga balls, a few machines, towels and a water dispenser.

Courtyard San Francisco Airport - Around the hotel
The multiple buildings and boulevards surrounding the hotel are not attractive to the average hotel guest. Just a few minutes’ walk away is Chili’s Grill & Bar, a restaurant that may be jdo the trick for a meal when The Bistro is closed.

Courtyard San Francisco Airport - My overall impression
The Courtyard San Francisco Airport is a transient and functional hotel only. The airport is easily accessible by shuttle and customer service is good.
The balcony offers a wonderful close-up view of the planes taking off from the airport. Unfortunately, this advantage comes with a major drawback: the loud, incessant noise of aircraft engines until 1am. Forget sleeping in, too, with activities resuming around five o’clock.
So pack your earplugs, whether you’re a light sleeper or not.
