Booking
When I visited the Ajman Saray Hotel – a Luxury Collection Resort – Ajman, a night cost 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points or nearly $300. So I chose to use Marriott Bonvoy points to pay for this stay.

Earning Marriott Bonvoy Points
The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points to stay for free at over 7,000 hotels worldwide is to be a Marriott Bonvoy American Express (and/or Marriott Bonvoy Business American ExpressMD Card) cardholder.
In addition to the great welcome bonus on both cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all purchases and 5 points per dollar at Marriott locations.
And each year, you’ll earn a free hotel night certificate (35,000 point value) as well as 15 Elite nights towards your Marriott Bonvoy status.
Alternatively, you can earn Marriott Bonvoy points with American Express Membership Rewards credit cards. You can transfer Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy points at a rate of 5:6 (50,000 Membership Rewards points = 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points).
For example, with the American Express CobaltMD Card, you earn 6 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar of purchases at grocery stores, restaurants, bars, convenience stores and home delivery. It is one of the best credit cards in Canada for travellers. Find out why here.
Check out this page for all the welcome offers on cards that earn Marriott Bonvoy points.
Checking-In
I checked in from the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app. Shortly before my arrival, I was informed that I had been upgraded to a suite due to my Titanium Elite status.
I gave my Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card as collateral and to pay for my stay there. With the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card, you earn 5 points per dollar for all your spending at Marriott Bonvoy hotels.
This is the best credit card to have if you stay at Marriott Bonvoy hotels frequently.
The room
The room is a suite with an ocean view. Made up of two sections, we first enter the living room with a large dining table, a nice desk and a bar area. A toilet completes this space.
The bedroom is very large, with a terrace access to enjoy the sunset.
When you enter the bathroom, you will notice a double dressing room for Mr. and Mrs. on the right.

Finally, the bathroom is composed of a beautiful central bathtub, visible from the bedroom, a separate shower (unfortunately not very well ventilated) and a separate toilet.
Swimming pool
The main pool at Ajman Saray – a Luxury Collection Resort – Ajman is simply stunning. You can swim lengths given its size. Its proximity to the beach is pleasant and lets you try different pleasant things.
Another small pool is also available, more suitable for children. It is located in the immediate vicinity of the Kids Club.
Gym
I didn’t get a chance to visit the gym. Here is a picture taken from the hotel’s website:

Beach and Kids Club
The private beach is a nice size and the sand is quite pleasant. However, I have to admit that I prefer the pool!
Breakfast
This hotel was visited during the COVID-19 pandemic. During my stay, a buffet breakfast was offered, assisted by staff members.
The room is large and it is also possible to eat outside. The dishes are varied and you will surely find what you are looking for.

If you make purchases in the bars and restaurants of your hotel, do not forget to charge these expenses to your room bill. So you’ll earn up to 17.5 points per dollar based on your Marriott Bonvoy status!
And when you check out, pay with your Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card to earn 5 points per dollar!
Bottom Line
Ajman Saray – a Luxury Collection Resort – Ajman is a nice surprise in this region north of Dubai. This hotel was for me a step before going to the two Ritz-Carlton, located more in the North (at the edge of beach and in the Desert).
It is also a good option if you are visiting the area with children as there is a Kids Club, a nice swimming pool and the beach.
The more athletic will also appreciate the nearby running track, with a surface suitable for jogging.
