Hello! We are currently in Vancouver for …. a little less than 12 hours.
Milesopedia will soon celebrate its second anniversary and believe it or not we have never flown together. So this three-day weekend seemed ideal to remedy that. And as we are “avgeeks” we didn’t take just any flight. We will detail the why and the how in a future post but our itinerary is the following:
- Montreal – Toronto in Business Class on Air Canada flight AC497 in Boeing 787-9
- Toronto – Vancouver in Business Class on Air Canada flight AC101 in Boeing 787-9
- Vancouver – New York JFK in First Class on Cathay Pacific CX888
We will document in details our flights soon but here is a first overview with 10 pictures of Dreamliner flights to Vancouver.
The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge in Toronto YYZ at the opening (05:15 AM):

Our plane for today between Toronto YYZ and Vancouver YVR: an Air Canada Boeing 787-9, better known as the Dreamliner.

Embarking first, we are able to take pictures of the different cabins: here the Economy Privilege class.

Followed by the Economy cabin:

Back to our seats in business class. A very successful design in our opinion:

The middle seats in business class. Very good for isolation with other passengers. However, it is not so ideal for people traveling together: the middle partition is fixed. This does not prevent you from being able to communicate over it.
The chair is positioned here in bed mode.

Jean-Maximilien’s headquarters: 1A (between Montreal and Toronto).

Particularly appreciated: the size of the screen (compared to our famous milesopedia coaster… or to what Air France offers on its B777, fortunately gradually replaced by a better cabin)

A view of the reactor from a tinted window:

Your servants comfortably seated in their seats for this Toronto – Vancouver flight. Thanks to the Cabin Manager Michel C. for the picture !

Bottom line
Two great flights in these 787-9s from Air Canada that live up to their Dreamliner name! At 25,000 Aeroplan miles one way per person to cross the continent in such comfort… a real bargain! The card below, free for the first year, offers this number of Aeroplan miles… … enough to make this little pleasure:
