RBC Avion members can now redeem points for one-way flights.
RBC Avion Rewards Chart
Starting today, RBC Rewards adds a new option for redeeming Avion points with the fixed rewards chart.
Program members can now do so to buy a one-way flight!
Previously, points redemption was only accepted for round-trip flights.
What's new
The chart is simply the same as the round trip one, but with half the points.
For example, a one-way trip from Montreal to Halifax for a short getaway would be 7,500 points.
The same round trip ticket requires 15,000 points.
The principle is the same for a flight to Europe. The cost in points is 32,500 points, for a flight with Air Canada on August 13, 2022 from Montreal to Barcelona.
How to earn RBC Rewards points fast
Until September 16, with the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card you can earn up to 55,000 RBC Avion points:
- 35,000 points at approval
- 20,000 additional points when you spend $5,000 in your first 6 months
- Annual fee of $120
The great thing is that the 35,000 points appear in your account immediately upon opening this card! You don’t even have to make a purchase, wait for the monthly statement or make a minimum expense.
So, with the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card, you can quickly book that single flight to Barcelona in the example above for less.
Purchased directly from Air Canada, this same flight costs $870, for the same date.

- and collision and damage insurance for rental vehicles
