Plaza Premium is a program that provides access to partner airport lounges around the world. Here’s how it works and how you can get in for free, using your credit card.
How does the Plaza Premium program work?
Plaza Premium is a network of airport lounges worldwide with over 250 accessible lounges.
In Canada, Plaza Premium Lounges are located at the following airports
- Montreal YUL
- Air France/KLM lounge operated by Plaza Premium (international zone)
- Toronto YYZ
- Plaza Premium Lounge (International, Terminal 1)
- Plaza Premium Lounge (Cross-border, Terminal 1)
- Plaza Premium Lounge (Domestic, Terminal 1)
- Plaza Premium Lounge (Domestic, Terminal 3)
- Salon Plaza Premium (International, L8 Terminal 3)
- Salon Plaza Premium (International, L6 Terminal 3)
- Plaza Premium Lounge (Cross-border, Terminal 3)
- Vancouver YVR
- Salon Plaza Premium (Domestic)

In the rest of the world, the salons are located mainly in Asia, but also in the United States, Europe and Oceania.
Plaza Premium Program Access Levels
There are three levels of the Plaza Premium passes, valid in all worldwide lounges:

All visits must be made within one year of purchase. Otherwise, they are lost and not refunded.

In addition, it is possible to purchase and reserve access directly on the Plaza Premium website.
Access to airport lounges is helpful for travellers, who may not have an Elite status with their airline, but want to relax before their flight in the lounge.

Plaza Premium Credit Card Subscription
In addition to these access passes purchased with Plaza Premium, there is “unofficial” access to these lounges through credit cards.
You only need to present certain credit cards at the entrance of the salon.
Some credit cards offer Plaza Premium membership AND free tours. Here they are below.
Plaza Premium and Visa Credit Cards
La Banque Scotia et la CIBC offrent des accès gratuits aux salons Plaza Premium aux titulaires de ces cartes :
- Carte AventuraMD Or CIBC Visa* : 4 visites gratuites par an
- Carte AventuraMD CIBC Visa Infinite* : 4 visites gratuites par an
- Carte Visa Infinite Passeport Banque Scotia : 6 visites gratuites par an
- Carte American Express Platine de la Banque Scotia : 10 visites gratuites par an
Il suffit que de montrer une de ces deux cartes de crédit au comptoir d’entrée du salon pour y accéder. L’année se compte à partir de la date d’adhésion au programme.
À noter que les visites gratuites des cartes de crédit VISA sont destinées au titulaire principal de la carte seulement et une personne qui l’accompagne.
Pour la Carte American Express Platine de la Banque Scotia, les 10 visites gratuites sont destinées au titulaire de la carte et ses invités. Un titulaire supplémentaire aura droit à 4 visites gratuites.
Plaza Premium and Mastercard Credit Cards
While all World Elite credit cards offer DragonPass membership for access to Plaza Premium Lounges, only certain BMO Mastercard credit cards also offer complimentary visits:
- BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard: 4 free visits per year
- BMO Rewards® World Elite®* Business Mastercard®*: 2 free visits per year
All you have to do is show one of these two credit cards at the entrance counter of the salon to gain access. The year is counted from the date of joining the program.
Plaza Premium and American Express Credit Cards
Certaines cartes de crédit American Express offrent aussi un accès aux salons Plaza Premium.

Mobile application
The Smart Traveller mobile app is the way to access the benefits of Plaza Premium lounges. It is available in the App Store or in Google Play.
In addition, the LoungeBuddy app is owned by American Express, which is connected to the Plaza Premium airport lounge network. Therefore, it is possible to purchase Plaza Premium lounge access on LoungeBuddy with an American Express card only.
