Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection is a new luxury hotel in Istanbul, member of Marriott Bonvoy. Looking for a charming accommodation in a historical building of the city and in the heart of the historical district to visit Istanbul on foot? You are in the right place!
Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection - Booking
I got a great rate of $149 per night when I booked my stay at Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection. During my stay, the point cost was 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
I therefore chose to pay for my overnight stay with my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card and keep my Marriott Bonvoy points for more interesting use at a later date.

Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection - Location
Built by the Prussian architect August Jasmund, who served the Ottoman court from 1888 to 1907, the Germanya Han was originally designed for the Deutsche ORIENTBANK.
The building was completely renovated in 2021 to become Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection.

Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection is located at the corner of Sultanhamam and Seyhülislam Hayri Efendi Streets in the heart of Istanbul’s historic district. During the day, the entire area is pedestrian.

Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection - Check-in
Our flight from Nice landed at Istanbul Airport around midnight. After about 45 minutes of cab, we arrived at the Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection around 1 am.
I tried to pay the cab driver with my HSBC World EliteMD MastercardMD (no conversion fees for foreign currency transactions). Unfortunately, after several tests, it turned out that his machine was not working. Not having any cash on me, the doorman of the Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection decided to take matters into his own hands: he proposed that the hotel pay the driver and put the bill on my room bill!
Even better for me: I’ll get 5 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar as I pay for my room with my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card. Besides, the next day, I didn’t want to take any chance with the cab bringing me back to the airport: I asked the hotel to do the same thing!

Once the cab was settled, we proceeded to our check-in. I particularly liked the lobby of the Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection: you don’t feel like you’re in a chain hotel but in a boutique hotel as Autograph Collection hotels usually are.
The receptionist – Taylan – told us he had upgraded our room. He accompanied us to this one with a little surprise!

Given our late arrival time, he had sandwiches and orange juice prepared for us: a particularly appreciated gesture! And that shows the level of service of this hotel.

Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection - Room
The room is all in length. The materials used are of high quality like the beautiful velvet armchairs in the entrance.

This room is particularly suitable for individual travelers or couples.
Good thing I was traveling with my friend of over 30 years :D! The intimacy of the bathroom is not very present: both on the side of the toilet and the shower, a simple film – slightly transparent – camouflages these rooms.

Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection - Breakfast
The Turkish breakfast at Orientbank Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection is simply AMAZING.

Served from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, I highly recommend it: you will be completely satisfied for the day. A good start to a day of walking through the historical sites of Istanbul.

For members with Platinum, Titanium or Ambassador status, breakfast is complimentary. You can also get it with some paid rates through the hotel’s website on Marriott Bonvoy through this link.
