To the point Here's how to take advantage of the exclusive benefits offered by certain credit cards to get the best seats at shows.

Best seats in town

As a concert and Cirque du Soleil fan, I often go to the United States or Europe for a weekend to see a show. But this can be very expensive. With credit card rewards points and benefits, I can take advantage of the best seats and reduce the total bill.

Here is a guide to attending concerts in Canada and around the world from the front row.

American Express Front Of The Line®

You may have already tried to reserve seats for a concert and within a few minutes, there were no more seats available.

With American Express Front Of The Line®, you get access to pre-sales for many shows, concerts and events. This way, you will be able to buy your tickets a few days before the general sale.

This benefit is available for all American Express credit cards. The only rule is to pay for your tickets with an American Express card.

To be sure you receive access to American Express Front Of The Line® news, I recommend signing up for the newsletter in your American Express account or signing up here. You can also find the list of events available for pre-sale on the dedicated page of Ticketmaster website.

Good to know: If you want to go see a show in the United States, you should know that you can also benefit from this advantage on the American version of the Ticketmaster site. Even if you have a Canadian American Express credit card.

In this case, we recommend using one of the Scotiabank American Express credit cards. They don’t charge foreign transaction fees (you will save 2.5% in conversion fees).

Reserved seats

If you missed a pre-sale, you can also get seats reserved for American Express cardholders only.

To see the available seats on Ticketmaster, you must click on the filters in the upper right corner and select only Front Of The Line by American Express® Experiences reserved ticket.

American Express cards offer other exclusive benefits at select venues such as the Budweiser Stage in Toronto, where Cardmembers can use the American Express private entrance in addition to lounge access.

RBCxMusic

The RBCxMusic program provides tickets that are only available to RBC clients. In addition to getting exclusive seats, you will receive a $10 Concert Cash discount code for your next purchase. Each code allows you to obtain up to 4 tickets.

Click on “Get your unique offer code to unlock RBCxMusic tickets”.
