United Club Lounge - London Heathrow - Entry and lounge seating
Upon arrival you take the stairs or elevator up one level and have your boarding pass scanned at the check-in lobby.

The lounge is quite large and features various styles of comfortable seating along with lots of power ports. One thing I loved about it is that it’s a fairly long but narrow lounge, with floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire length. This allows for a lot of natural light and provides a bright, airy feeling inside. I was there from late morning until early afternoon and while the lounge was busy, it wasn’t overly crowded. There is seating for 280 guests.
There are some nice vintage United photos on the walls at each end of the lounge area.
Out the window you get a sweeping view of the Terminal 2 tarmac.

I just love a fabulous airport lounge bar, and the United Club lounge here delivers. There’s a 25-seat full service bar featuring beer, wine, a cocktail menu, and proper champagne. After I ate and had a shower I spent the rest of my time here enjoying some drinks and chatting with the friendly bartender.
United Club Lounge - London Heathrow - Food and drinks
The food on offer was varied and quite good. I arrived during breakfast so that was being served. There were multiple sections featuring:
- Hot food such as eggs, sausages, beans, potatoes, etc.
- Porridge with toppings and other condiments
- A bread and pastry station including muffins, bagels, donuts, and croissants
- Sliced meats, cheese, and veggies
- Cereal, fruit, and yogurt.
- Coffee/espresso machine, soft drinks, and juice.
At the other end of the lounge there was another drink station featuring water, juice, tea, cordial, coffee, and soft drinks.
Once the breakfast was cleared away, lunch began. It featured:
- Hot food such as lasagna, chicken, potatoes, vegetables, etc.
- Crackers, toppings, and condiments
- Salads
- Sliced meats, cheese, and cold sandwiches
- Breads and deserts
For alcoholic drinks, a full bar selection was available including cocktail menu and champagne. I tried the New Yorker No1 cocktail and a glass of Rodier champagne along with some light snacks.
United Club Lounge - London Heathrow - Washrooms and shower facilities
The lounge has 8 large and very well-appointed shower suites. They feature a toilet, sink, rainfall shower, vanity sitting area with mirror, Sunday Riley personal products, a small closet, and a door where you can pass the valet your garmets for pressing. The room was spacious, comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure.
The regular washrooms were also quite nice as well and were all single rooms.
Near the reception area there are screens on the wall where flight times can be checked.

Conclusion
Overall this is a very comfortable lounge and an excellent place to spend a few hours. The nearby Air Canada and Singapore Airlines lounges are also good. Unless you are on a United pass you likely will have access to all three so if you have enough time it is a good opportunity for some lounge hopping!
This United Club lounge is my favourite among them. The variety of seating, large amounts of natural light, and amenities, including the large buffet, shower suites, and terrific full-service bar make this a great stop during a transit through London Heathrow.
